The City of Choteau (sometimes confused with Chouteau County) is the county seat of Teton County and within the 9 Judicial Court District. The 9th Judicial Court District encompasses four counties – Teton, Pondera, Toole, and Glacier. Joining Choteau as county seats are Conrad (Pondera), Shelby (Toole), and Cut Bank (Glacier).
Choteau is the southernmost county seat and located along the Rocky Mountain Front. Cut Bank is the most northern and located on the hi-line, as is Shelby. Conrad is south of Shelby and north of Choteau. All four high schools enjoy heated rivalries and compete in the Northern B conference. A team from the Northern B almost annually competes for or wins the state title in both football and basketball.
Although 80 miles separate the courthouses in Choteau and Cut Bank, Mr. Bieler maintains an active civil litigation practice throughout the entire 9th Judicial District. The 9th Judicial District is currently presided over by the Honorable Robert G. Olson.
